We are delighted to let you know about our new Make Along project that launches over in our dedicated
Facebook group today – our Blogstar Lucia Dunn’s Peerie Blooms blanket.
This is such a cheerful blanket with its popcorn flowers in lovely bright colours and is such fun to crochet – the flowers can get quite addictive.
Lucia’s first project of 2020 this pattern is a celebration of her love for colour, featuring some of the new shades we introduced to Stylecraft Aran last year. The Peerie Blooms Blanket pattern is available through
Lucia’s website and costs £5.50.
Lucia told us more about her MAL project: “The name Peerie means small in Scottish and that is what this blanket is all about.. a razzmatazz of little three-dimensional flowers in a vibrant meadow full of colours.” What a great description!
The blanket measures 130x170cm and uses 7 different colours together with cream for the background. You will need the following Stylecraft Aran yarn:
6 balls of Cream
2 balls of each of: Spice, Fondant, Cornish Blue, Mustard
1 ball of each of: Aspen, Pomegranate, Pistachio
Lucia was keen to come up with a project that was accessible to crocheters of all levels. “I wanted to create an easy-to-crochet project, with a simple and uncomplicated square quick to make with the aran yarn - a great way for beginners to experiment with colours and textures.” The pattern has very clear instructions with step-by-step photos to help you and there is a helpful
video over on Lucia’s YouTube channel.
”There are 99 squares organised in 4 colours combinations and arranged as a Tartan fabric , again, a homage to Scotland, my adoptive home that I love so much,” says Lucia.
So get your hooks ready, head over to Lucia’s website for the
pattern and join us for a feast of a MAL.
