We are busy getting ready for a trade show called Stitches, which takes place in Birmingham from 17th February, when we get to meet yarn shop owners from all over the UK to show them our new yarns and patterns. It’s a great opportunity to catch up with people and, this year, we are using our stand to take a look back over the last 30 years to some of the classic patterns that we have run since 1989. It has been huge fun to look back at our archives and follow how the fashion in handknits has changed over the years, but it has been a huge job with literally hundreds of leaflets to go through.  In 1989 the Berlin Wall came down and Kylie and Jason topped the charts with ‘Especially for you’.  Can you remember what you were wearing then or what you were knitting? Here are a few of our favourites. Screenshot 2019-02-06 at 16.01.04 We were the first yarn company to bring out an eyelash yarn and Eskimo is still popular. We’d love to hear from any of you who have been knitting with Stylecraft yarns in the 1980s and 90s and which patterns you used. We are hoping to put together a special collection from our archive to share with you later in the year.
