Knit Along with Stuart Hillard

Have you come across Stuart Hillard in your crafty journey around the internet?  He was the runner up in the first series of the Great British Sewing Bee and he is well-known for his skills with a sewing machine.  What you may not know is that he is a lifelong knitter!  

We are huge fans and delighted to call him our friend so we were very excited to see the launch of his new Knit Along specially commissioned by Let’s Knit Together, a gorgeous cable blanket in Special Chunky in a lovely bright palette of colours.

If you haven’t tried cables before and you find them a bit intimidating, Stuart is there to put you at your ease: "Cables are much simpler to knit than you may first imagine. Simply put, you’re knitting and purling a ‘rope’ or cable, and ‘taking it for a walk’ across the surface of your knitting."

In this exclusive six-part knitalong, complete with videos, designer Stuart Hillard will guide you through creating a beautifully panelled, cable blanket which is suitable for all levels of knitter.  Each panel will give you plenty of time to master the stitch that Stuart has devised and, before you know it, you will be an expert cabler. 

The pattern is available to Let’s Knit Together members but if you take out an annual membership by 3rd February you will receive a free welcome gift - all the yarn they need to make this blanket.  That’s a whopping1,300g of Special Chunky.
