Today you can join us for a brand new Make Along over in our group, created by our Blogstar, Heather Leal.

Heather has an amazing eye for colour putting together different palettes of Stylecraft yarns to entice and inspire crocheters of all abilities and she has really come up trumps with her Granny Square Shawl, which is our November project.

Heather has been using our new yarn, Highland Heathers and has put together this fantastic tutorial to guide you with three main delicious colourways and other alternatives you could try.

The first uses all twelve shades of Highland Heathers and is called Highlands and Islands…

…… the second, called Berry, is made up of pinks, blues and purples…

….. and the third, called Woodland is made up of blue, browns, green and neutrals.

Make sure you scroll to the very bottom of the tutorial to find some other colour combinations.

Why not have a good look around Heather’s blog which has lots of tutorials for you to try and heaps of ideas for blankets. Her step by step photography will really help you to get to grips with all kinds of techniques.  The one on how to join squares is bookmarked on our computers.
