From the comfort of her new home in Cornwall, Blogstar Helen Shrimpton, aka Crystals and Crochet, has created another blinder of a blanket design in Special DK – Cornish Comfort. Every time we hear that Helen has a new design coming out, we grab out crochet hooks and wait with bated breath.  We really enjoyed last year’s Cosmic CAL, with its feast of colours and stitches, so you can imagine how excited we were to get started on her latest offering. cornwall-coll-980x980 Helen shared some of her inspiration with us: ‘’There is nothing as cosy and comfortable as a beautiful handmade blanket. As I moved to Cornwall, my spiritual home, last year I have felt more comfortable as each week has passed.” “I am inspired by the beautiful landscape, both the woodlands and the coastal areas, there is a ruggedness to the moors around Bodmin and the north coast that really makes me feel at one with nature and I tried to reflect that in this design.” blue_throw_shot_20_1507-e1574271879714.jpg Cornish Comfort is full of rich texture with a wonderful mixture of both simple and more complex stitches to keep crocheters of all levels entertained.  What’s more there are two yarn packs available called Woodland and Coastal – so difficult to choose orange_throw_shot_19_1489.jpgThe packs are available from Stylecraft stockists.  If you want to put together your own colourway you can download the Cornish Comfort pattern from Helen’s Ravelry store. Don’t forget to share your Cornish Comfort with us over on Facebook.
